Led a global team of senior systems engineers who architected, implemented, managed, and supported the following datacenter technologies: SAN, storage, server hardware and OS, clustering, VMware ESX/ESXi and VirtualCenter, Citrix, and backup/restore systems.My management role was in addition to my status as a senior systems engineer, and I constantly redesigned, upgraded, and tuned the virtualization platform to increase capacity and performance. My core engineering responsibilities encompassed architecture and management of the VMware HA clusters, HP and Dell blade enclosures and servers, Brocade SANs, and HP/3PAR and EMC Clariion storage arrays.

Implemented standard datacenter platform for Windows and VMware-based systems in global datacenters, based on Brocade SANs, 3PAR storage arrays, and HP blade enclosures and servers. Responsibilities included installation, configuration, and management, including hands-on work in main US and UK datacenters.Installed, configured, managed, and monitored redundant Brocade FC SAN fabrics using DCX backbones, core, and edge switches, and DCFM Enterprise and SAN Health software. Planned and performed fabric reconfigurations, expansions, and FOS upgrades. Configured, managed, and monitored 3PAR E, F, and T-class arrays, utilizing InForm Management Console and CLI, System Reporter, thin-provisioning, dynamic optimization, remote copy, and replication manager. Planned array implementations, configurations, expansions, and hardware/OS upgrades.Performed end-to-end storage provisioning, including HBA configuration, fiber layout and installation, fabric zoning, array LUN provisioning and presentation to hosts, multipathing configuration, and creation of Windows and VMware volumes.In addition to storage technologies engineering and management responsibilities, continued to implement, expand, and upgrade server platforms, particularly HP c7000 blade enclosures, BL460c blade servers, and VMware ESX/ESXi 3.x/4.x clusters.

Performed Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 and VMware 3.5 installation and management on Dell and HP blade systems and rackmount servers. Planned and implemented AD migrations and antivirus deployment and management. Migrated, upgraded, and managed MS Exchange 5.5/2003 messaging system for AM region, including consolidation of all remote sites to MSCS clusters in main datacenter. Integrated acquired companies into AD and messaging organization. Performed Brocade SAN and 3PAR storage configuration and management, and datacenter management including racks, servers, switches, and cabling.As senior engineer on team, designed and documented procedures for server and storage migrations as part of major datacenter move. Performed all stages of datacenter buildout and migration including hands-on installation of racks, blade enclosures, servers, switches, and cabling, and implemented new SAN and storage environment. Utilized 3PAR Remote Copy and VMware Storage vMotion to migrate virtualized systems for successful move with minimal downtime.

Performed Windows server installation and management, Netware to Windows migrations, AD migrations, antivirus deployment and management, and backup administration. Built and managed MSCS clusters and shared-storage datacenter systems. Migrated, upgraded, and managed MS Exchange messaging system for NA region.Moved from internal support team to outsourcing services team and served as lead Windows server engineer for a large datacenter outsourcing project for a financial services firm. Performed analysis of all hardware and software systems and procedures at client site and implemented buildout of new platforms in target datacenter. Played key role in successful migration of production and development environments to the new datacenter with minimal downtime.

Provided server installation and support services as consultant for major health care and financial services clients. Performed Windows and NetWare server installation and management, networking, security, and compliance.
