Senior Director, Strategy And Innovation
CurrentAs president at Evidence-Based Associates (EBA) and as Senior Director at Empower Community Care, I have been engaged for more than 25 years with passionate, innovative leaders of child-serving public agencies (e.g., child protection or juvenile justice). Our team has provided oversight for a wide range of projects in the Southeast, in New York City, in Texas, and most recently in the state of Washington. Together, we aim to address some of society’s most vexing issues related to vulnerable children, youth, and families using research and evidence of effectiveness to guide our work. Using my experience and expertise in the identification, adoption, and implementation of evidence-based programs, I seek to assist public agency leaders to ‘think outside the box’ and co-create mental health programs and evidence-based intervention strategies that are community-based, evidence-informed, and family-centered. Empower Community Care is a global training and technical assistance firm that seeks to promote evidence-based programs such as FFT, MST, and IY, and to develop and deploy tools, resources and supports for application within public safety, mental health, and education systems. As part of the Empower team, I can continue to lead conversations on mental health advocacy, evidence-based program development, and community outreach. My hope is to partner with states and other jurisdictions to advance innovative care models and build partnerships that promote resilience, recovery, and empowerment within vulnerable and marginalized communities.Over the past four years, I have also been fortunate to serve as an Associate Editor for Global Implementation Research and Applications (GIRA), the research publication of the Global Implementation Society (GIS).
