I started at Marten Transport as a Fleet Manager in April of 2014. This position required excellent communication skills. I was responsible for approximately 30 drivers daily. Everything from notifying the account manager and planner if the driver was running late to getting them home on time. Also responsible for getting the trucks set up for preventative maintenance and to shops for repairs. In May if 2017 I was moved to Account Manager. Now my daily activities are communicating with customers what loads we can service with our capacity. I am responsible for all over the road and regional freight out of Michigan and Northern Indiana. With a Bachelor of Science (BS) focused in Business Management and a BS in Service Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, I have been able to use my skills to become better at communicating with customers, drivers and co-workers along with understanding their needs. In a May of 2019 I was moved to Safety Manager supporting the Director of Safety with meeting the FMCSA expectations. June of 2022 I was moved to Director of Safety overseeing the driver qualification files if approximately 3400 drivers.

Starting at Marten I was a Fleet manager overseeing approximately 30 drivers daily. In this my responsibility was to keep the drivers moving on loads. Other responsibilities were to route the driver for home time, set up services when needed, communicate issues with loads, issue purchase orders for expenses incurred and keep the driver drivers planned on loads. In May of 2017 my position changed to account manager. In this role it is my responsibility to communicate with the customers for loads we can service. With this I am required to set the pick up and delivery appointments. It is also my responsibility to communicate with the customer any issues that may arise with their shipments.
Manage daily operation of 120 unit apartment complex. Maintain resident files, sign leases, advertise available units and take care of resident issues.
