Dan Kirkpatrick represents clients on a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters, primarily in the area of communications law, with a concentration on television and radio stations and other content producers. He has an extensive background in counseling television stations regarding cable and satellite carriage issues, including the negotiation of retransmission consent and other carriage agreements; enforcement of mandatory carriage, network non-duplication and syndicated exclusivity rights; and prosecution of market modification proceedings. Dan also counsels television and radio stations on compliance with FCC regulations that affect their day-to-day operations, as well as in the context of sale, purchase and financing transactions.Dan's significant experience extends to compliance with the FCC’s media ownership rules, political broadcasting regulation and other content restrictions, as well as EEO regulations. He has assisted numerous radio and television stations with both routine and non-routine licensing matters and license renewal proceedings, and has guided broadcast clients, as well as investors in broadcast companies, through the regulatory and transactional aspects of station purchases, sales and financings. Dan has also represented broadcast clients in rulemaking proceedings before the FCC and in responding to actions before the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau.
