Contributed written materials and generated ideas for the ASCP web site. Managed social media accounts; wrote and posted daily Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn posts for the organization.

Coordinate media promotion of fund raisers, community programs, public and professional education seminars and volunteer recruitment. Gather stories from volunteers and staff in order to write, edit and produce newsletters focusing on AHA branch activities.Primary Duties: • Write, edit and produce press releases, radio public service announcements, media alerts and other support materials including pitch letters and brochures.• Adhere to strategic plan for the promotion of AHA fund raisers and educational programs to appropriate audiences and media outlets.• Serve as liaison between AHA physician representatives/spokespeople and media reporters by arranging interviews.• Develop feature stories related to unique volunteer efforts and human interest stories highlighting personal encounters with heart disease and stroke.• Place follow-up calls to remind reporters about health and science news of national importance as well as AHA fund raisers and awareness campaigns.• Responsible for the content, design, production, and effective use of the HeartBeat, Heart Happenings and Heart Links newsletters. • Develop material for the AHA’s “Ask the Nutritionist” question-and-answer column appearing every other week in The Daily Herald. • Responsible for AHA’s presence on Peapod website, a home grocery shopping service. • Coordinate various efforts of designers, photographers and printers on special projects to achieve goals of the communications department.
