As one of the most experienced instructors on CFS(H) Squadron, I have been responsible for teaching training and mentoring future military instructors. This has also included training other nations instructors including US, Australia, Jordan and UAE.

Overseas And Uk

OP tour in Afghanistan with US Marine Corps, coordinating US and UK aviation operations. Following which I then acted as QHI Training Officer on 660 Squadron AAC, teaching student pilots and mentoring junior QHIs. During this time I also volunteered to teach and assist on the Operational Training Phase of the Army Pilots Course at Middle Wallop.

Deputy Chief Instructor, responsible for the supervision and coordination of 4 very busy helicopter flying training squadrons, managing assets worth $70 million and a staff of approx 125 QHIs/QHCIs. Following which then acted as the rotary training SME to UK MFTS and Ascent, providing TNA and SAT assistance culminating in a $1.3 billion procurement of helicopters and synthetic training aids.

I acted as the UK Helicopter Training SME to the UK MFTS Team as it set out to complete a TNA and SAT compliant procurement to upgrade the whole of the UK Tri-Service flying training system, costing ROM $10-13billion. The TNA, datapacks and scoping study produced by our 5 man team led to the successful integration of this system under ASCENT.

After completing RMAS Sandhurst, I commissioned into the Kings Regiment as an Infantry Platoon Commander, serving in UK, Europe, West Berlin and Australia. I was then selected to represent the Regiment as their Training Platoon Commander at the Junior Infantry Battalion, before then starting my Army Pilots Course. I completed a Lynx (multi-engine) conversion course and flew Lynx Mk1, 7 and 9 throughout Europe and Former Republic of Yugoslavia, both as Flight Commander and Squadron Second in Command/2IC. After successfully completing Junior Staff College, I then attended and passed the CFS(H) Qualified Helicopter Instructors (QHI) Course at RAF Shawbury. I acted as Flight Commander on both the Basic and Advanced ab-initio phases at DHFS and gained my A2, Above Average QHI category in 2000. Show less

I owned and ran 2 business partnerships (1xToys as a pilot scheme and 1xFurniture Stripping/Reclamation). Both were successful, however, I realised that I wanted adventure, adrenaline challenges and to travel and so joined the Army.
