The research I am participating in seeks to understand whether there is a bias in the scientific publications of more data on male birds. The hypothesis is that there are biases in how scientists have studied bird biology differently for male versus female birds. To test this hypothesis, I will be examining research papers to determine whether sex-specific survival information are reported and, if so, I will record such data on Sysrev. The significance of the research results is to help inform whether scientific literature show evidence of sex bias.

• Collaborated with colleagues to prepare and lead health sites centered on topics of mental health, nutrients, and the importance of sleep• Initiated social outings to strengthen relationships among teammates• Utilized Microsoft Excel to compute data to estimate income generated for a fundraiser• Created and led informative presentation on racial bias in pulse oximetry measurements and the importance of implementing pulse oximeters use at VCH’s quarterly health fairs
