I offer a unique combination of content creation excellence and strategic expertise honed on some of the UK’s most iconic newspaper and magazine brands including The Sun, The Daily Mirror and NME. A versatile and adaptable problem solver and storyteller with a wide range of transferrable skills, I have a proven track record building and/or growing engaged, mainstream audiences in print and on desktop web, mobile, social media and distributed platforms across a variety of verticals, including news, sport, entertainment, lifestyle and technology. In 2009 I launched the groundbreaking MirrorFootball website and digital brand which went on to change the way mainstream media outlets covered the UK's national sport. I also devised a growth strategy that saw Mirror.co.uk almost double its audience to 42m monthly unique users in 2013, and launched the UK’s most read Apple News channel while at The Sun. As a manager I have a long history of assembling, recruiting and running cross-discipline teams, and also have considerable experience working with C-suite stakeholders and collaborating with commercial, marketing and technology departments. At News UK I project managed a 12-week digital content strategy transformation conducted by leading digital agency IDEO.Reflecting my passions for tech, sport and music, I am obsessed with virtual reality, manage an under-10s football team at weekends, and once convinced Mick Jones of The Clash to perform ‘(White Man) in Hammersmith Palais’ onstage for the final time *in* Hammersmith Palais for the 2007 NME Awards. I am currently interested in new opportunities with media organisations, start-ups and digital agencies.
