Lab Supply is an independent importer and distributor of scientific equipment and consumables from the world’s leading brands.I started with Lab Supply in 2019 as a service engineer to do all the electrical testing, installations, calibrations fault finding and repairing off Scientific equipment.

Waterworks (Water & Waste water) I transferred from steam plant as an Instrument Tradesperson (Supervised) to waterworks plant from January 2019 to Present.My day to day tasks includes: • Checking and changing calibration of plant instrumentation• Replacing faulty transmitters, switches, positoners, thermocouples and sensors• Finding and correcting faults like: loose connections, leaking impulse lines, blown fuses.• Installation of new instrument loops as well as testing of loops which involved:• Modifications to existing instrument set-ups for purposes of optimisation such as replacing old pneumatic transmitters with new electronic transmitters.• Overalling valves with valve kits during STAT outage.• Being available for plant standby on a four week roster.• General maintenance of the plant. This occurred when sections of the plant are switched off to perform maintenance.

Steam and power generation SasolI transferred from oxygen plant as an Instrument Tradesperson (Supervised) to steam and power generation plant from January 2010 to December 2018. My day to day tasks included: • Maintenance and fault finding on plant instrumentation. • Checking and changing calibration of plant instrumentation• Replacing faulty transmitters, switches, positioners, thermocouples and sensors• Finding and correcting faults like: loose connections, leaking impulse lines, popped fuses.• Replacement of faulty TDC cards.• Installation of new instrument loops as well as testing of loops.• Modifications to existing instrument set-ups for purposes of optimization such as replacing old pneumatic transmitters with new electronic transmitters.• Overhauling valves with valve kits during the boiler general overall.• Being available for plant standby on a four week roster.General maintenance of the plant. This occurred when sections of the plant are switched off to perform maintenance

•Calibrations of instruments including analytical, conductivity- PH, process flow, level, pressure, speed, weight, temperature and control valves. •Maintenance breakdowns on equipment that is critical to plant and product output.•Commissioning and start-up including loop testing, cause and effect tests, function tests, system walk-downs, pressure testing, punch list generation and acceptance on all field instrumentation.•Arrangements on new installations in the plant.•Working "hands on" to management responsibilities covering many different projects. •Field of maintenance, commissioning and construction of new projects.•Calibration and servicing of all types of electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation found in the petrochemical and power industries.Execution of planned maintenance routines and trouble shooting on a wide variety of process systems using relay logic and PLC’s•Commissioning of various process and protection systems associated to the petrochemical and power plant industries.•Fire and Gas systems, Power Generation packages, Gas compression packages, Oil and Gas Metering systems and Oil and Gas separation trains.
