About Dan Venter
My current role and day to day activities include inspection, Installation, fault find, electrical testing and calibrations of all electrical and instrumentation equipment on gas system pipelines across the north Island of New Zealand. My daily tasks also include maintaining and calibrating gas metering systems on gas pipelines and compressors. In my previous roles I was also responsible for all maintenance and calibrations on Scientific instruments around laboratories, hospitals, plant, food, and beverage sites across New Zealand including installations of new instrument loops as well as testing of loops, modifications to existing instrument set-ups for purposes of optimization, Working "hands on" to management responsibilities covering many different projects, Field maintenance, commissioning and construction of new projects. Maintenance breakdowns on equipment that is critical to plant and product output, Commissioning and start-up including loop testing, cause and effect tests, function tests, pressure testing, punch list generation and acceptance on all field instrumentation. I am equally comfortable to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team or work independently to deliver the desired outcomes. I strive to deliver projects from start to finish. I am always on top of my game testing new field instrumentation. I am self-driven and believe to always be on time. I performed Manager acting duties on a regular basis responsible for managing a team of 10 employees ensuring daily work and projects are up to date and planning new work/projects developing and implementing new instrumentation and systems according to safety standards and MOC processes.
