As the Domain Architect for cloud and hosting, I establish the global enterprise technology vision and direction for environments ranging from remote plants and technical centers to regional colocation centers as well as public cloud services like Microsoft Azure. I created the technology roadmap for cloud and hosting and I develop the technology standards setting the strategic direction for compute services that best support the business. I champion executive support for technology directions through active evangelization and governance activities.

As the CTO for the Meritor Account, I provide technical direction for a midsized hosting environment in two HP data centers comprised of a combination of approximately 400 physical and virtual UNIX, Linux, and Wintel servers.

As the CTO for the Daimler Financial Services Account, I provide technical direction for the existing environment and new projects for a 2 data center hosting environment of UNIX and Wintel servers and mainframe processing.

As the Transition Manager for the Daimler Financial Services Implementation team, I provided Program direction for the build out of a 3 LPAR/600 MIP mainframe, and 150 midrange servers across 2 EDS data centers. Build activities werecoordinated with the EDS leveraged organizations, the DFS Infrastructure team, and the DFS Application Development teams following an integrated timeline.

As a Project Manager on the Server Refresh Project for Daimler Chrysler, I lead a high performance team for Sun server deployments replacing current servers as they reach lease expiration. My team developed detailed documentation of server build requirements, and when servers reached the DCX data center, my team builds the server according to the specification. After the server is turned over to the DCX Application Teams for staging and testing, my team completes the transition to operations and production and supports the decommissioning of the old server.

As a GM Development Project Manager for Shared Security, I managed the Shared Security N+1 development project following the GM SDP-21 R9 process. This project focused on developing a life cycle approach to the Shared Security environment developing an approach to environment upgrades that can be applied at regular intervals without interrupting end user access while permitting rolling application upgrades. I have also served as a Deployment Manager leading several projects, including building the Shared Security Production Support environment, deploying updates to the Global Reuse Parts Library Application, Deployment Manager for the GM Common Database Infrastructure (CDI) Project, and the Product Development Citrix deployment for suppliers. The primary technologies involved in these assignments includes Sun servers hosting Sun Directory software configured in a multi-master / multi-consumer configuration integrated with Tivoli Access Manager and Web Seal authentication servers.

I managed several parts of the Problem Management team of the Level 2 UNIX Remote Systems Management group. Our group supported over 5,500 Engineering Workstations and 150 servers. My team provided Systems Administration services in a multi-vendor environment of Sun, HP, IBM, and SGI workstations using Sun and HP servers and standards based configurations for NIS, DNS, and automounted NFS environments. Our customers were spread across more than 15 GM customer sites interconnected on a private network separated by firewall from the public Internet. The team was responsible for following established processes and system configuration standards in managing and resolving customer issues with systems and applications such as Unigraphics, CGS, Nastran, Hypermesh, EasyCopy.

As a member of the Delivery Management Program Team, I was responsible for developing work flow processes and documentation required to communicate the new support methodologies to the multiple support teams responsible for providing system support in a remote delivery model consisting of a central Help Desk (CAC), a remote systems administration team, and an on-site field services organization. I was also responsible for migration related activities to convert the existing site based customer support teams into the leveraged support teams as part of the newly developed model.

As a member of the Sun Professional Services organization, I was part of a new satellite team in the Mid-America Practice supporting the Sun hardware sales office in Detroit, Michigan. I developed a proposal for supporting a major Detroit client to analyze their current web server host and recommend a plan for migrating the server to a Detroit location and participated in the leadership of the team as the prime contractor for a consortium of 8 major technology partners. I was responsible for coordinating the activities of the technical members of the project team, contributing to the project plan, and documenting and tracking issues to resolution.

I was part of a team focusing on implementing improvements in UNIX systems support through the development of a structured program for the development, implementation, and monitoring of common processes and system standards in the UNIX support environment. The team completed implementing Netscape’s Enterprise Server 2.0 on an HP K200 system. The system ran as a secured server with user level authentication from a corporate database. The web development team posted content to the server using Microsoft Front Page and FTP to post the production pages. Process documentation was being posted to the server from a Lotus Notes database using Lotus Notes Domino Web Publisher.

I lead a project implementing standard application images and copies on UNIX based engineering workstations at GM Powertrain sites. The project successfully reduced support costs by 20%. My technical team assembled image/copy tools for packaging and distributing common Unigraphics software across a local area network. All project documentation was posted on a divisional web page. All of my documentation was created using MS-Office tools and converted to html format using Microsoft’s Internet Assistant tools.Engineering Supervisor - June, 1995 to August, 1996 - Flint, Michigan

I supervised a 5 person UNIX system administrator business process re-engineering team responsible for defining and documenting best common practices for providing systems administration support for GM Powertrain’s 1000 UNIX workstations distributed across 20 engineering and plant locations. The team's projects were integrated into a Strategic Business Unit level project.

As a member of Powertrain’s Information Technology and Planning team I contributed to the Powertrain Business and Information Management Plan (BIMP). Powertrain is currently completing business process re-engineering efforts on key processes and systems identified through the BIMP process.

As team leader for the Lansing EDS C4 support team, I was responsible for managing the financial business, ensuring customer satisfaction, and leading support activities. I developed the sites router based TCP/IP local area network. My team provided support for both mainframe attached CADAM terminals and HP UNIX engineering workstations. I also served as the technical leader for the account.

In the first phase of my training, I supported the GM Powertrain Flint Finite Element Analysis Group. In the second phase of my training, I completed training in basic programming languages such as COBOL, ALC, and CICS. In my third phase, I applied my training in development projects on the GM C4 program.
