I grew up believing that work was not supposed to be fun, and if you are having fun then you aren't making enough money. Therefore, even though I had personal interests and passions I desired to pursue, that little voice in the back of my mind insisted it could never happen. I wanted to be an artist! To bring joy to others through my personal expression (but if I pursued that..well then I'd be "starving)." That wasn't all I liked to do, but how could you narrow down into a single college major "empathy, kindness, mentoring, support, upliftment, creative problem solving, active listening, teaching, health and fitness, and assisting others to empower themselves to become the best version of themselves possible?" Ultimately I received my degree in Psychology due to my interest in human behavior and what motivates us to do what we do, and Sports Medicine due to my passion for sports and fitness, and Nursing due to my passion to help care for and assist in the holistic healing of others. I've worked in a Naturopathic Medical Clinic assisting others to heal through various modalities, been a Ski Patroller and Emergency Care Practitioner and Educator, Nutritional Consultant, Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, Reiki Practitioner, served in various traditional nursing roles in nursing home, hospital, school, and community based settings, and started my own business as a hypnotist and health and wellness coach.My passion is people! I've learned to see the extreme value in self-care and creating balance in life, stress management, positive belief systems and self-talk, and getting our physical and emotional needs met in healthy ways so we don't have to resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms to "feel good".
