I was responsible for driving the EMEA SaaS number from zero, initially with the rebranded Silverline DDoS Protection Service and soon after the expanded Silverline offering including DNS, WAF and Anti-Bot/ Anti-Fraud solutions (including later the Shape Security services).From the 'first man on the ground', in parallel with growth in both SaaS revenues and the breadth of our offering in the Managed Security Service space, my role expanded to include the hiring, enabling and leading of an EMEA focused Overlay Sales team who supported our Customers, Channel Partners and internal customers (our F5 Account Teams), across F5's five 'Regions' of EMEA. After 5 years in the position of 'EMEA Sales Lead' for our SaaS services, along with significant investment and expansion F5's SaaS business (the multi billion dollar acquisitions of Shape Security, Volterra and Threat Stack) I was closely involved with the integration of the existing overlay function into the expanded 'Distributed Cloud' team who focused on not only the SaaS delivery of managed and self-service Security Services but also SaaS delivery of the companies core competency of ADC (or Application Delivery), with a suite of end-to-end Networking solutions consistently delivered across datacenter, cloud, multi-cloud and edge. Key Achievements in the role included:Consistently the companies top performer in SaaSOverachieved over 150% quota most years, qualified for the companies annual 'Presidents Club' as recently as May 2023Successfully built, enabled and led a geographically diverse and multi-lingual specialist teamClosed EMEA's largest 4 SaaS dealsRecruited, enabled and developed channel partnersOpened significant new verticals for the SaaS business including FSI, Service Provider & RetailInnovated in the MSP space, closing the first and later the largest MSP customers.
