A manager by both education and experience, Dan received some of the world's best management training as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, serving in very responsible positions as a Fighter Controller and Air Surveillance Officer in both domestic and foreign defense posts. Managing teams as small as 6 personnel to as large as 100, Dan learned to motivate, educate, and direct for superior results. In his last position as the Test and Requirements Officer for a unique Air Force test squadron, Dan managed the testing and evaluation of leading edge technology for all branches of service. After leaving military service, Dan honed his customer service skill by selling computer equipment to the public. As a sideline, he offered personal, in home installation and troubleshooting of personal computer equipment. These skills in management and customer service served Dan very well when he joined the customer service team at Raymond James. Dan moved rapidly from call center to trainer. His demonstrated technical prowess led the Vice President of his department to ask him to take on the additional responsibility of technical liaison, managing first level technical support to the 128 associates in his department. Dan was soon recognized as one of the premier technical liaisons in the company and asked to join the IT department responsible for, among many other duties, managing the training of and supervising the daily activities of all the technical liaisons. In addition to responsibility for technical liaisons, as a Technical Consultant, Dan serves as an IT Product Manager for several product areas, negotiating contracts for the firm and selecting the best, most cost effective products for use.
