With a master's degree in Art Education from the University of Cincinnati and professional certification in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, I'm an experienced patient story collector through the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs initiatives, My Life, My Story and Take 15! initiatives. I'm a founding member of Taft Research Group at the University of Cincinnati, I investigate the relationship between arts and medicine along with a team of interdisciplinary colleagues. Nea Grant Fellow With The Va'S My Life, My Story Program

Through Wave Pool's National Endowment of the Arts grant-funded fellowship program, I was matched with the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center to support the My Life, My Story program (MLMS). In this role, I expanded the current volunteer training program designed to honor veterans’ lived experiences and strengthen patient and provider relationships. I developed additional training materials that draw on narrative medicine principles and practices. I recruited and trained volunteers in virtual and in-person settings. I scheduled and conducted patient interviews, which included writing, editing, and distributing patient stories. I coordinated the program's partnership with the University of Cincinnati Taft Research Center: Narrative Medicine, Compassionate Arts in Healing group and planned a speaking event featuring MLMS founder, Thor Ringler. I managed the MLMS database and presented updates to local VA staff and the MLMS national network during monthly and quarterly calls.
