Working with drug users at SFAF’s Syringe Access Services program sites to help provide the supplies they need to survive and thrive. Helping build knowledge and experience for folks who want to prevent overdoses, prevent the spread of and treat HIV/HEP-C and other viral diseases, and improve their health in every way possible. Hoping to use my extensive lived experience with drug use to ensure we achieve those health outcomes while maintaining everyone’s dignity and helping each other heal from the shame and trauma that is inflicted upon drug users.

Worked with other founding members to build out the organization from the ground level. Collaborated with others on the first grant that funded the organization and played a role in building most of its early infrastructure, especular the operations systems regarding supply chain.

We won! Managed Sandy’s successful campaign that saw her secure a comfortable Re- election. Also worked with the two other progressive candidate campaigns to establish a shared slate platform and do coordinated field work, comms, share messaging strategy, etc. Built the first direct voter texting program in a Santa Cruz City Election using ThruText and bespoke data systems managed by a local progressive data collective.

First for two years as a volunteer and then about a year on staff before a final year or so phasing out of my work there altogether, as a volunteer Trainings, issue cuts, basebuilding across the country, building two chapters in a Santa Cruz alongside a query youth organization that we started from scratch at the time time. Launched a national free college campaign and attempted to get serious statewide efforts off the ground on that issue, all of which ultimately failed.

National

Worked as a trainer on local and national level, served on the National Training Team, planning and leading training sessions at People's Action's Weeklong training events, Training for Trainers, and 3-day and 1-day trainings. Trained a total of 340 people across 9 training events. Trained on eleven different topics, including building bases through organizing people and money, running effective meetings, political education on structural racism and gender oppression, how to organize through relational one-to-one meetings, making organizing propositions.

Less involved than 2016 but did volunteer my time to organize some canvassed and secure some student support and was part of a queer youth org that interviewed and subsequently endorsed Justin and then canvassed for him. Personally sad on his campaign committee and later his cabinet after he was elected.

Worked with the massive base built during the Bernie Campaign and Brand New Council local elections to launch several issue campaigns which built healthy successful bases to sustain and even grow the organization before electoral efforts started up again

Volunteered full time to organize the joint efforts of the Santa Cruz for Bernie field machine and the individual field programs of four Santa Cruz City Council campaigns: Chris Krohn, Sandy Brown (both successful); Steve Schnaar and Drew Glover (both unsuccessful). My role was leading a highly collaborative effort to conduct a field program staffed by SC4B volunteers but using door targets developed with a Nationbuilder CRM instance I made from scratch on my own and added a canvassing app to. We purchased historic progressive voter data from a local strategist and applied those targets to the data from what the individual campaigns had on hand by the time we joined. Assisted in getting the candidates all signed onto a slate agreement and shared platform agenda which led to an endorsement vote from hundreds of SC4B members. The BNC slate field program knocked an additional 2000 highly targeted doors and built a campus field program to supplement on and off campus field work by the four campaigns. Worked closely with the successful candidates after the race on Sanctuary City policies, housing policies including inclusive zoning and renter protestations, and fighting anti homeless legislation.
