Directed, Developed and Advised a department of 60+ in performing a wide range of systems maintenance and repair functions for Combat Systems weapon systems, surface radar, navigation systems and information systems. Key Achievements:• Managed the overhaul, upgrade, and installation of $115M of equipment which included CIWS, RAM, SSDS, SPS-49, SPS-67, CANES, SLQ-32, and NIXIE, during a $300M LSD Modernization Drydock period. Worked closely with TYCOM, ISEA, Port Engineer and others to ensure all installation and Systems Operation Verification Tests (SOVT) were completed on time. • Served as the Combat Systems Senior Enlisted; principal advisor to the Operations Officer as well as the Tactical Action Officer (TAO) during tactical situations. Provides tactical, technical, administrative, and training expertise in all warfare areas. • Led a 26-member Combat Systems Training Team; directed 19 complex tactical scenarios training the ship’s crew to combat active threats and control equipment casualties during tactical situations. • Qualified as Combat Systems Officer of the Watch (CSOOW), CIC Watch Officer (CICWO) and TAO.

• Supervised, mentored, and trained a team of 16+ in performing a wide range of systems maintenance and repair functions for shipboard weapons systems including two MK15 Close in Weapon Systems (CIWS), two Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) Launchers, Ship’s Self Defense System (SSDS), and two MK38 25MM cannons.Key Achievements:• Established the shipboard security force program; developed standard operating procedures, directed the basic training of more than 160 personnel, maintained accountability for $700K of security equipment, and conducted over 60 training scenarios to ensure the safety of the ship and crew.• Established the shipboard explosive safety program; developed detailed work plans that led to the restoration and certification of 12 weapon spaces and their fire protection systems; certified 13 personnel in ammunition handling, and implemented physical security requirements, furthering the Navy’s mission to restore and return an inactive warship to full operational status. • Coordinated with external agencies to develop and review the accuracy of more than 150 individual work items, based on Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP), Ship drawings, schematics, tech manuals, and other engineering documents, in preparation for the upcoming LSD Modernization period.
