Helping industry transition to low carbon hydrogen to achieve net zero

• Designing and implementing a governance structure to manage the Government’s Levy Control Framework, which controls public expenditure on low carbon electricity policies. • Writing a key chapter in DECC’s Electricity Market Reform Delivery Plan, providing transparency to industry on the support available and setting out the Department’s plans for managing levy spend.• Giving detailed briefing to senior officials and Ministers for appearances before Select Committees and Parliament.• With a small team, securing Ministerial agreement for the level of budget to allocate to the first major renewable energy projects to be supported through Electricity Market Reform.• Establishing a cross-departmental working group to agree analysis and formulate policy recommendations to the Executive Board and Ministers.• Regularly giving presentations on low carbon electricity policy to industry stakeholders and international delegations.• Working closely with DECC’s delivery partners to develop budget management policy and procedures.• Writing the business case and contract managing a project with government actuaries, to identify and manage spend and delivery risks in line with best practice.
