I handle all legal and compliance issues for an industry leading software company providing billing solutions and other services to the telecom and utilities industries. My role includes answering general legal questions, the presentation of legal issues to company executives, providing general legal advice, contract formation, negotiation with customers and third parties on pricing and terms, reporting of legal issues, risk management, revenue tracking, and coordination of outside counsel when necessary.

As a county attorney, I provided a South Carolina state agency with many facets of legal representation. My job responsibilities included general legal advisory to the agency, management of a case load, management of dockets, and representation of the agency in court by arguing motions, presenting agreements, and conducting trials, with numerous successes in a first chair position. I was subsequently promoted to the position of Regional Trial Attorney.

From April to October of 2021, I worked as a contracted attorney with several law firms in the Charleston, South Carolina area, and performed a range of work, including conducting real estate closings (buying and selling,) contract review (purchase and sales agreements,) general corporate advisory, and corporate formation.

As a construction defect attorney, I defended subcontractors and general contractors in complex construction litigation. My role included conducting depositions, arguing motions, preparing pleadings and briefs, document review, and providing general advice to clients, as well as insurance representatives.

In addition to acting as a purchasing agent, I acted as an assistant project manager from 2012-2015 for a commercial electrical subcontractor in the Charleston area. In this role, I handled the purchase and dissemination of materials on large projects such as schools, hotels, and other commercial buildings. My role included price negotiation, scheduling of delivery, receipt of delivery, and issuance of purchase orders. As an assistant project manager, I also communicated daily with on-site employees to monitor the progress of projects and ensure that projects were moving according to schedule. In addition, I reviewed blueprints in preparation to bid projects and negotiated construction schedules with other contractors. I reprised this role from 2019-2020 before beginning a career in law.

As a contract attorney, I reviewed, analyzed, and filed vast amounts of discovery documents on a mass litigation lawsuit, ranking each document based on its relevance to the case. Upon finding important documents, I communicated with other attorneys on their importance, writing reports and memoranda. Primarily, my role was focused on preparing memoranda and compiling documents in the preparation for specific depositions.

As a law clerk, I conducted legal research on specific issues and assisted in drafting demand letters. In addition, I drafted legal memoranda on issues regarding Probate, Personal Injury, and Criminal Law. I also conducted some initial client interviews, communicated with clients, attended depositions, and observed litigation first hand.
