I’m a serial entrepreneur and have founded several businesses including PrintKEG.com, IDM Firm, and Airewaves Broadband, LLC.While I no longer run the daily business operations of my companies, as a Software Engineer, I can’t help but still be involved in the technical operations of them from time to time. Being an entrepreneur gives me the unique opportunity to understand not only the technical side, but the business side of decisions. Leveraging this means I am able to make suggestions and decisions that are based on the realistic needs of the company. I can also bridge the gap between the business and technical owners.At PrintKEG.com (2009 - Present) I developed the shopping cart system and built a backend order management system, which tracks order entry to delivery. The backend system also provides critical data metrics to track progress and predict shortcomings. This was written in a custom PHP framework (recently we switched to utilize Shopify, as it made more sense for business growth).At IDM Firm (2005 - Present) I was the primary backend developer for all contracted work while also maintaining the network and business from a technology perspective. We did software development work for a variety of real estate firms and small to medium businesses. Our primary language was PHP.With Airewaves Broadband (2000 - 2005), I helped setup, deploy and Manage the Wireless ISP network from architecting the network to provisioning routers to selecting CPE devices. Built and purchased applications to manage the network stack and ensure services are running smoothly.

For over 70 years, Hargray has been connecting customers to each other and the world, growing from a local phone company to an industry leader providing residential, business, enterprise, and carrier wholesale communications services.I manage our API integration team (combination of offshore team and remote team) and also manage our Sales CRM Team.We evaluate APIs for a variety of different systems and work to integrate them into our business applications. We develop APIs, primarily in Ruby, for consumption by other business entities. We dynamically return the data in either XML or JSON based on requirements. We created APIs that consumed a variety of protocols (REST, SOAP, gRPC or even custom in some instances). I create the technical architecture, policies, and processes that our developers follow when producing API endpoints. I manage the projects and teams to a successful completion.Some of our projects include: - Migrating Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics for our entire organization ahead of schedule- Creating an API layered on top of our 20 year old OSS/BSS allowing better bi-directional integration with newer systems.- Rewrote Equifax API to give clearer line of sight into customer credit scores- We streamlined our Installation and Repair technicians ticketing process through the creation of an API into our ServiceDesk Plus instance; allowing the tool to auto-populate fields to reduce troubleshooting and helpdesk calls.- Converted organization to new payment processor for Credit Cards and ACH, utilizing new APIs and workflows while ensuring PCI and DSS compliance. Project generated $2 million in value for 2021.

I created applications, primarily in Rails, to deliver essential information to internal users including SLA Management Systems, Trouble Ticketing Systems, and custom Network Monitoring Application.I was involved in migrating our Payment Processor over to a new vendor, including rewriting all of our APIs and integration points. I was also in charge of our PCI compliancy and annual attestation.Projects included:- Creating a website to manage Network Outages including Reporting and Communications (Ruby on Rails)- Integrated Salesforce bi-directional orders between our OSS/BSS using custom developed APIs (Ruby)- Created API integration into Intrado/West 911 Database to support E911 regulations (Ruby)

After a short stint away from Hargray to take some time to focus on my businesses, I returned to design, develop, and deliver system platforms to support various ISP systems.My big project was to re-architect the email system which included a complete overhaul of the SAN solution from Dell Equallogics to EMC Clariion to handle the massive amounts of read/writes that the mail system required.Other projects included:- Implemented a new spam management system to replace the outdated one we had.- We moved from physical to virtual servers which provided better monitoring and redundancy while reducing server maintenance costs.

I started my career with Hargray responsible for creating an end-to-end diagnostics platform (EDGE) written in Ruby/Rails (with Perl scripts sprinkled here and there) to support CSRs, I&R Techs and NOC personnel in troubleshooting customer issues.I had to develop interfaces to support these technologies; SNMP, TL1, Telnet, Radius, Alopa (now supporting Incognito), Myrio (now supporting MMR), Occam/Calix, Triad and CommuniGate (as well as a few others).Other projects included:- I created a Project Management system written in PHP.- I created a Capital Authorization and Request system (written in Ruby/Rails), - I also managed a variety of *nix servers and maintained the IPTV platform.
