Road Restoration Undergraduate
CurrentWithin the Road Restoration team, I was responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of restoration projects on NSW roads including restoration of not only asphalt and concrete roadways but also footpaths, driveways, kerbs/gutters, layback and turf. This provided significant exposure into minor civil works and included:- Championing and managing restoration projects on NSW roads from start to finish- Coordination of site scoping via site visits & desktop analysis- Management of RFQ and tendering process including providing recommendations to the senior contract manager- Performing regular safety, health and environmental inspections, investigating incidents and writing professional reports- Performing regular quality inspections, collating quality assurance documentation and constructing NCRs- Attending to other TQs & RFIs from contractors and Sydney Water customer service teamI gained additional exposure into the work performed by the Road Restoration team’s project managers, civil engineers and accountants by being involved with:- Monthly financial reporting including progress reporting, PO receipting, cost savings verifications and claims validations- Delivering regular presentations within monthly team meetings on a variety of topics for the purpose of developing public-speaking and presentational skills- Researching additional cost saving methods, such as through negotiation skills and analysing data to assist with lowering traffic control, rubbish disposal and other construction costs
