I love construction! As a Senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Virtual Design and Construction, I cannot wait to get out in the field, practice, and build upon the skills I’ve been developing. In fact, I’m not waiting! Just this last February as Project Manager, I led my project team as we competed in the Associated Schools of Construction competition in Sparks, Nevada. And what an amazing opportunity that was!I’ve done two internships. One as a Field Engineer and one as a Project Engineer. As a Field Engineer for a high-end residential GC, I had the opportunity to work on two 10,000 SF homes, a private airplane hangar, and several other projects. A few months later I was hired by New West Building Company, a high-end residential and commercial GC, as a Project Engineer! While at New West my experiences in project management grew immensely. On Screen Takeoff became my best friend. I became Procore certified! The worlds of estimating, bidding, and problem solving became the foundation of my management experience.I am still just beginning my journey, but I am so excited to keep learning and most of all contributing to project success wherever I may be.
