Co-Lead Avionics Hardware Engineer
CurrentEnhanced the efficiency of our avionics system design and improved system organization by overseeing the creation and implementation of the Avionics Stackup using Altium. This design solution compartmentalizes complex components, enabling streamlined integration and effective management of our rocket’s avionics systems. As a lead, I onboarded and trained 8 new engineers by guiding them through a hands-on project that culminated in the design and manufacture of a custom NFC-enabled business card. This initiative not only expanded our avionics team but also increased project capacity through structured workshops and immersive learning experiences, equipping new members with essential skills for future projects.Additionally, I work closely with Structures and Fluids leads, coordinating and integrating avionics systems for the static fire testing of the PHOENIX rocket. This collaboration ensures smooth cross-team communication and system readiness, supporting a successful launch and comprehensive data validation.Under my leadership, the avionics team has grown from 5 to 13 engineers, with ongoing development of custom embedded systems and hardware to support multiple rocket projects. I focus on coordinating team efforts, managing project timelines, and fostering a collaborative environment to drive progress toward achieving launch readiness.
