As the Court Liaison Manager, I am responsible for the management and administration of Court proceedings particularly in the High Court. I provide procedural advice and compliance checks across a range of practice areas. I am also in charge of accounting for all fees paid to Court. I appear before High Court Masters on an ex parte basis to expedite applications and correspondence. I helped to establish and manage a research team, which reviews and extracts legal data from the High Court's electronic database. We monitor and extract information relating to newly issued proceedings, as well as provide continued research into existing proceedings. I am the main point of contact between the firm and the Court. I have built and continue to maintain good working relationships with fee earners at my firm, as well as with the various departments at Court. I use my knowledge and experience to ensure that our dealings with the Court are done correctly and efficiently.

During my time at the Commercial Court, I worked in both the Issue Office (formally known as the Registry) and the Listing Office. I was responsible for the issuing and handling of court documents. I had to ensure that the correct documents were filed and completed correctly. I also assisted the listing officer with fixing hearings and had to make sure that the parties provided the necessary documentation on time, so that the Judges had sufficient time to prepare for hearings. I was later made responsible for handling all arbitration proceedings, which consisted of answering queries from the public, taking instructions from the judiciary and issuing and filing documents. I was then promoted to Team Leader of the Issue Office. I was responsible for delegating work evenly amongst the team in order to provide an efficient service to the public. In addition, I was responsible for dealing with entering default judgments and authorising payments out of the Court.The Commercial Court worked very closely with the Admiralty Court and as a result I was asked to clerk for Admiralty Registrar Kay QC. This required me to fix admiralty hearings and manage his diary in a way that allowed him sufficient time to consider admiralty applications made on paper. The registrar is also responsible for all Commercial Court third party debt orders and charging orders, which meant that I had to manage and filter these orders into his work load. In addition, I assisted the Admiralty Marshal with issuing and filing arrest papers.
