Daniel Dustin is the current Vice President of State Board Relations at National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). In this capacity for over the past 12 years he has contributed many important initiatives to the organization. Some of Daniel’s key Accomplishments at NASBA have included working over a 5-year period with other senior staff from AICPA and NASBA on the CPA Evolution initiative culminating in the publication of a model curriculum for accounting education and the biggest change to the Uniform CPA Examination since its computerization in 2004.Another key initiative of Daniel’s at NASBA was helping to create the Experience, Learn and Earn (ELE) program to provide a rigorous pathway to meeting the 150-hour education requirement for licensure as a CPA that is low cost and scalable to firms of all sizes.Prior to his key role with NASBA Daniel held a key role for New York State Education Department as the Executive Secretary of the State Boards for Public Accountancy and Certified Shorth and Reporting. In addition, he held the position of Internal Audit Officer and Chief Accountant Acting Director of Budget and Fiscal Management for the New York State Office of the Attorney General.In addition to the key roles Daniel has played in his profession he has held public office when he was elected Councilman for the town of Colonie New York where he used his business acronym to improve efficiencies for the town of Colonie. Daniel had a passion for giving back to his community and in the past has held key board roles for the Colonie Youth Baseball and Mohawk-Hudson River Humane Society. With a big belief in continuous learning and growing, Daniel obtained his BS and MS in Accounting from Clarkson University. In addition, Daniel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for both New York State and Tennessee.
