I'm a Software Engineer with a focus on cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and cybersecurity.I was one of those kids growing up who had to understand how everything works, and I could never satisfy my curiosity. I started programming at 11 years old and have been in the software space ever since.I obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Nevada Reno. During my years in school, I also worked for Friendly Computers, where I did web development for small business as well as computer repair and home/business networking.After graduation, I commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force and was assigned to the Business Enterprise Systems, Strategy and Innovation Branch. I managed environments in the Azure and AWS GovCloud, developing infrastructure automation and implementing automated solutions using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and AWS Lambda. My military experience also includes an assignment at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, where I performed performed software engineering functions and led a rapidly deployable engineering team.My time as an officer in the US Air Force also equipped me with the leadership skills necessary to make tough decisions and communicate effectively. I am particularly well-versed in the ability to take highly technical information and present it in a consumable manner to a non-technical audience.At Elgia Inc, I designed and managed all aspects of our cloud infrastructure, on Azure and GCP, implementing CI/CD pipelines, developing automations, and architecting microservices solutions using Kubernetes.Throughout my experience in software, I've become efficient at learning and adapting to new technologies. I'm constantly learning new skills and finding new tools to take advantage of. I love tackling challenging problems that require well-thought out solutions.
