- Serve as a resource to faculty and staff providing guidance and assistance in the areas of appointments, visa processing, staffing, job postings and terminations.- Work with HR, Payroll, and Harvard International Office to ensure compliance with human resources regulations, union contract, equity, lab safety and visa guidelines.- Responsible for faculty, post-doc, graduate student and staff appointments, reappointments, terminations and payroll.- Manage department payroll, absence request and leave accruals for 60 employees and supervises assistant to oversee payroll.- Review all job postings before submission to HR and establishes funding is available for the position.- Coordinate inter-departmental visa training and support as co-chair of the Visas@HMS Committee.
