As a Senior GIS Analyst at Community Fibre, I was the primary contact for all GIS and Spatial Data queries from within the Network Strategy team and the broader organisation. In this role, I developed and implemented spatial analysis techniques to visualise data, identify growth areas, and detect potential issues in the fiber network and related systems. I was the primary lead for managing and integrating systems with geospatial database, ensuring high data standards by updating existing information, sourcing new data, and meeting specific requirements of key stakeholders.My responsibilities extended to collaborating with various teams across the company, offering guidance and analysis on how GIS solutions could support their objectives. This involved addressing specific issues, such as creating monthly reports, bespoke maps, applications, dataset sourcing, and providing training to individuals. Additionally, I oversaw the company-wide GIS system, conducting training sessions with different teams to optimize their software usage, make system modifications for enhanced productivity, and ensure its effective utilization by sales, business development, project management, and future planning teams.Furthermore, I conducted thorough quality assurance and control on GIS datasets, minimising data errors and inconsistencies. This approach not only increased data reliability and facilitated more robust geospatial analysis but also led to a reduction in customer queries related to incorrect addresses and data.

I was the GIS lead for various large-scale DCO and CPO projects, playing a key role in meetings with stakeholders to advise on necessary GIS tasks such as analysis, map production, and sourcing any relevant data. Tasks including coordinating team efforts, conducting personal development reviews, and advising on goals for team members. Additionally, I was responsible for creating Web GIS applications for both internal and external clients, and providing training to teams on how best to use the applications and the data within it. I also provided GIS support to the land referencing team, aiding in the creation of statutory documentation, such as book of reference, notice plans and order schedules. Through the use of GIS I was able to ensure that the data was accurate;y processed and efficiently carried out, with relevant data synced across databases for internal and external use. I was also responsible for the creation of best practice documents that were used by all team members, sourcing project-related data, and conducted regular data transmittals to clients with thorough audits for accuracy.

I proved myself as a highly valuable GIS Specialist and an integral member of the team. I worked with manipulating datasets, as well as sourcing additional data, to produce analysis alongside the production of detailed plans. I was responsible for working on a wide range of utilities including Water, Gas, Electricity, and Infrastructure projects. Working on such a variety of projects in both ArcGIS and QGIS has given me the skill to frequently find more efficient ways to carry out everyday tasks.

I was part of a team that had a 98% accuracy in tasks by analysing land use and appropriately altering subsidy identifiers. Used complex web based mapping software called iSmart and ArcGIS which I excelled at, leading me to go over and above the required target per day. Using OS MasterMap, aerial photography and remote sensing to update farmers maps to ensure that they get the correct payments for their land use.
