Fm / Qs / EstimatorCathedral Interiors Apr 2010 - Feb 2012My role at Cathedral had several key objectives;To assess the main client agreed schedule of rate, and identify efficiencies to enable the target margin to be achieved and monitor all aspects of the works on an ongoing basis. To implement a combined financial forecast and report which is updated monthly with the actual figures from the sage trial balance figures. This report required the work in progress to be accurately assessed and also included the future workload. The document enabled the presented the sage costs and overheads to be compared with the individual cost reports and margins assessed on the CVR and original budgets. This process enabled budgets to be advised for the works, to provide individual and overall cost analysis to assess performance and amend resource methods, this was reconciled on a live and retrospective basis.Occasional Running of Projects as PM / QS All Post / Pre Contract works involvingPresentation of the estimates to client requirements. Estimator / Quantity Surveyor / DirectorScotfit Interiors Ltd Feb 2001 - Jan 2010Bradford, United KingdomI assisted with the growth of Scotfit from 2001 to 2008, where in 2003, I was offered a directorship and 10% shareholding for my efforts. The MD & I were the key personnel within the senior management team to drive the expansion of Scotfit, with the efforts achieving an annual increase in the turnover in excess of 30% per year, whilst maintaining margins.I was accountable for a management team of three contracts managers, a workshop manager, & two surveyor / estimators. The management included coordinating the above departments to provide individual and overall program analysis to assess and amend resources, tender and cost production, which was reconciled on a live and retrospective basis.I supported the teams by way of providing pre commencement meetings, and weekly progress reviews, with regular face to face and telephone updates, and occasional joint site visits for project and client development My efforts assisted the rate of expansion, which involved liasing with any prospective clients secured by the marketing efforts, inspecting the client proposals to enable any Scotfit response compatible with the clients expectations and to ensure the response was presented in as comprehensive a format as possible. An approach which was met with many favourable responses, and has led to two key clients requesting my personal involvement with their new concept stores for both the design and costs.
