• Surveyed each step of assembly lines from warehouse to packaging for the power strips RackPower Intelligent Power Distribution Units (iPDUs). • Frequently interviewed all warehouse and assembly line workers, then ordered personal protective equipment (PPE). • Recreated work instructions for building a model of iPDU from start to finish. • Composed alternative 35 steps to improve efficiency in constructing iPDUs. • Conducted time studies for each assembly line and packaging. • Developed code to line balance any assembly line, including 12 versions with constants hardcoded for different models of iPDUs. Code determines the optimal amount of workstations, ideal time at each station, total time per iPDU, and which station should perform which steps based on user inputs for time available and customer demand for a given model.
