I am responsible for leading GSS Council meetings in an orderly fashion, in accordance with Robert's Rules of Order and the GSS governing documents.

I represented students in the SFU Master of Public Policy program on the Graduate Student Council at SFU. There, I was responsible for raising concerns within my program to the larger graduate population at Council meetings, as well as informing students in the program about the ongoing campaigns and business of the larger graduate student society.

Worked with the North Coast team in executing the Reconciliation Framework Agreement for Bioregional Oceans Management and Protection, an agreement between the Government of Canada and 14 First Nations committed to advancing collaborative governance and management in the Northern Shelf Bioregion. Areas of work include marine planning and oceans management, and shipping, marine safety, and ocean protection.

The role of the Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences Representative is to be the liaison between the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at UBC, the EOAS Undergraduate Clubs Council, and SUS Council. Additional tasks include:- Maintaining a minimum of 1 office hour per week during the winter session.- Attending all SUS Council Meetings- Attending all EOAS Undergraduate Clubs Council Meetings- Being a member of a minimum of 2 SUS committees and regularly attending those meetings- Contributing a minimum of 3 volunteer hours during Science Week and a minimum of 3 volunteer hours per term- Being responsible for the promotion of all Science events through avenues such as word of mouth, class announcements, and posters as requested by SUS Council.- Checking in once per term with the SUS Vice President, Internal Affairs- Submitting a detailed report of activities at the Annual General Meeting- Submitting a year-end transition report

The Senior Orientation Leader provides both direct and indirect peer support to a cohort of new-to-UBC Science students.

As a councillor:- I attend AMS Council meetings every 2-3 Wednesdays during the school year.- I am responsible for making decisions for the society including but not limited to spending, governance code changes, and approval of minutes.- I represent the voices of Science students on AMS Council- I currently serve on four committees:*Education Committee, responsible for policy making in the AMS with regards to education and academic issues. The Education Committee is responsible for developing policy for academic issues, and the recommending those policies to the AMS Council. In the past it has worked with Council and the university on student evaluations, exam scheduling, grading, and access and diversity. Additionally, they have to review the effect of university policies, liaise with the Student Senate Caucus, and consult with students through a big annual survey - the Academic Experience Survey.Chair of the Education Committee:- Sets the agendas for meetings; - Calls and publicizes meetings;- Causes minutes to be taken and approved at meetings and reported to Council;- Ensures quorum is met at meetings; - Reports to AMS Council on the activities of the Committee;- Seeks to remove and replace Committee members who fail to attend meetings.
