Facilities Manager for Polymer Analysis Research Technology Platform. A non-departmental analytical facility for bespoke analysis and synthesis of polymeric material (and any other materials on request).We have world class instruments of SEC (including high temperature), particle sizing, contact angle and thermal analysis (DMA, DSC, TGA and TGA-MS) and mechanical testing.Via our relationship with other departments within the university we also have access to NMR, MS (Including MALDI-ToF), GC/GCMS, HPLC, XRay, microscopy and more.I facilitate analysis for internal and external users, including building relationships with industrial clients.Also, everything mentioned in my previous position!We run bespoke analytical training course on-site and off-site and are the hosts of The Polymer Club networking event https://warwick.ac.uk/research/rtp/polymerclub

Facilities manager for polymer analysis/characterisation utilising a multitude of techniques, but specialties includes thermal analysis (TGA and DSC) and GPC (gel permeation chromatography) suite. Running and maintaining of 7 GPC systems, including training of users. Experience of advanced maintenance of GPCs and other systems. Method development for analytical chemistry (GPC and GC predominantly). Developing relationships with external contacts and performing external contracts for polymer analysis, including GPC, HPLC, GC, GSMS, IR, thermal analysis (TGA and DSC), microscopy and mechanical testing. Consultation for analytical chemistry within Warwick University and liaising with other departments to facilitate analytical chemistry. Helping to provide analytical capabilities via Warwick Scientific Services. Production of technical reports for contract analysis. Organising and running external training courses. Teaching and demonstrating analytical chemistry in polymer analysis for undergraduate and post-graduate students. Occasional demonstration facility for Agilent GPC sales. Working with floor technician to ensure high standard of health and safety in research and analytical labs.

Creation of semi-conductor nano-materials for environmental clean up. Using all associated nano-fabrication and analysis techniques.

Lab demonstration and supervision for chemistry undergraduates

In July 2009 and August 2010 I worked for Salter's Chemistry Camps as a lab demonstrator, giving me experience in teaching, lab demonstrating and teaching children, all of which, in turn, gave me more knowledge of chemistry and lab skills.

Experience gained: Time/work management as I choose when to work based on what work needs doing. Training others to be admin assistants. Confidentially filing patients notes. Keeping good order, computer proficient, incredibly thorough as dealing with health related information, able to prioritise.

Experience gained: Selling and delivering furniture and also managerial duties such as: finance, item stock/orders, banking, organising deliveries both incoming and outgoing, dealing with customer complaints.

where I was paired with a college student and offered them both academic and general advice on school/college/university.The whole way through university I have worked doing admission days and induction days for the chemistry department. Duties involved accurately describing the department/university, being polite, answering questions, dealing with problems.

Research into reduction of CO and CO2 with uranium complexes. Experience gained: Using and maintaining my own vacuum line/bench. Various laboratory based and literature based research techniques.
