Managing partner at regional brewer in rural Ontario

▪ Daily responsibilities include operation of all aspects of BRI’s 50kg pilot maltings and 1hl brewery, both of which are ISO certified. This role extends into creating internal research projects and developing project specifics for clients in many area’s of food and fuel alcohol. ▪ Acted as auditor for both pilot plants safety and beer and malt production quality.▪ Acted as an instructor during ‘Introduction to Brewing and Malting’ training courses which BRI offers to companies and individuals interested in getting a basic understanding of the brewing industry.

Worked as a Barman at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, which is wholly owned by the Glenmorangie Company. Aside from typical bar duties, whisky tutorials to customers and the sale of branded merchandise was a large part of my role. This required good people skills, as well as knowledge of the production and sensory analysis of whisky.

Worked as a research technician for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs while on summer break from the University of Guelph. The job required both research and people skills as we often worked with farmers as 'co-operators' on our research projects. I also learned valuable technical skills during my time in this position.
