My role involves creating effective access routes to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for under-represented groups. In doing this, I work with a variety of Higher Education stakeholders to deliver our mission.DARE and HEAR Scheme OperationI collaborate with the IUA Access Steering Group, DARE HEAR Operations Sub-group, Advisory Boards, and CAO to ensure the successful operation of DARE and HEAR schemes.Stakeholder Engagement and Policy MonitoringI work with internal and external stakeholders to monitor DARE and HEAR schemes, strengthening the evidence base and identify emerging policy issues, opportunities, and risks.Liaison and Point of ContactLeading as the main contact for CAO, HEIs, and stakeholder groups regarding criteria and policy matters. I address complex and disputed application outcomes and Ombudsman issues.Strategic Relationship ManagementI manage relationships with key stakeholders such as the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, National Educational Psychological Service, and the Department of Social Protection. I support HEIs in building capacity and expertise to sustainably run the schemes.Communication and Public RelationsI collaborate with the IUA Head of Communications to ensure timely communication about the IUA Access Programmes, Together we utilise websites, social media, press releases, and other communication channels to reach target audiences.Steering Group CoordinationI work with the Chair of the IUA Access Steering Group and IUA Director for Learning, Teaching & Academic Affairs to convene and coordinate the Steering Group's activities.Representation on National GroupsI represent IUA on the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science’s National Access Plan steering group and other relevant national oversight groups
