Mr. Messinger is a senior client leader with over 20 years of experience focused on managing large scale and transformative programs for clients in the Military Health System (MHS), Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA), and Food & Drug Administration (FDA), among others. He has an in-depth understanding of health care management issues, especially related to business operations, governance, innovation, and design thinking.Mr. Messinger is currently working with senior VA clients to lead sustainment of the VA’s new electronic health record (EHR) in support of the EHRM Integration Office. Prior to this role, Mr. Messinger led change management and adoption efforts regarding the Department of Defense’s (DOD) new EHR, MHS GENESIS. Before Mr. Messinger’s role with DOD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM), he was Booz Allen’s Deputy Program Manager for VA’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP), a 400+ person program responsible for providing Servicemembers with information pertaining to VA benefits and services they have earned. Mr. Messinger also served as the Program Manager for Booz Allen's portfolio of contracts that focus on analytics, innovation, design thinking and quality at the National Capital Region Medical Directorate (NCR MD), with headquarters located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). He also led Booz Allen’s support of the Operation Live Well/Joint Force Fitness effort located at the Pentagon, focused on assessing readiness across multiple domains, as well as leading an initiative supporting Air Force’s strategic basing office evaluating quality of education and license reciprocity across the country. Mr. Messinger has an active Secret clearance.Mr. Messinger received Booz Allen's highest individual award (VIP – Oct 2012), was named a Key Driver for the firm's highest team award (BEA – Feb 2013), and was featured in Booz Allen's Annual Report (June 2013) for his leadership in Booz Allen’s health market. He is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and certified in IHI’s Open School Program, Design Thinking and ITIL. He did his graduate work in health systems administration at Georgetown University.
