I am currently the President of the Congolese Society at IIE MSA. It is such an honor for me to be in this position. That said, my role as President is as follow:i) I represent the Society both on and outside our campus for various events such as cultural, and so on. ii) I Plan the Society’s activities in consultation with the Executive and decide on how important an activity is and which ones can be postponed due the Covid-19 regulations that must be followed.iii) Liaise with the Executive and any Committees formed by the Society on a regular basis to ensure that we keep track of our yearly and monthly goals for the well-being of the Society. For instance, having meetings with the Treasurer to discuss financial problems related to an activity and alternative solutions. Overall, I am still a student who is eager to go for every opportunity the world has the offer.

For this position, I maintained the Society’s finances by managing the cash flow (inflow and outflow) of the society. With my knowledge in both Financial Accounting and Financial Management, I was able to budget for the year 2021 since 2020 was a tough year.In addition to that, I was responsible to present to the Annual General Meeting of the Society a report detailing the financial activity and status of the Society.Finally, I ensured an adequate handover, including any documents and materials, to the following Executive whose I am currently the President.

As part of my responsibilities, I interacted more with my lecturers and fellow students. I was kind of the bridge between them. In addition, I helped students who struggled or had difficulty expressing their concerns to the lecturers.Overall, this position might seem like nothing to some but I respect it a lot because I loved what I was doing and it contributed to my growth as a person.
