My projects involve the optimization of methods for the production of large-area self-assembled Bio-inspired 2D materials. This work also involves using techniques such as X-ray and electron diffraction, atomic force microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy to characterize the structure of these materials on the molecular level.

Research Focus: Synthesis of Two-Dimensional PolymersI developed methods to produce and characterize monolayer thick, crystalline, organic films (Two-dimensional polymers) at the air/water interface. This project was extremely collaborative and involved a large international team of researchers. This work spans the fields of materials chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, and surface science. I have extensively used techniques such as SEM, AFM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, raman spectroscopy and microscopy, optical and fluorescence microscopy, XPS, ICP-MS, NMR, atomic absorption spectroscopy, GC-MS and HPLC.
