Adjunct Instructor
CurrentDuties • Prepares for and conducts instruction in the course(s) as assigned by the Dean. • Ensures that each student acquires and uses the official textbook for the subject being taught and ensures that class instruction be given from same. • Submits attendance in Populi weekly (for face-to-face and online classes), documenting excused absences for holidays, institutional sessions, or instructor absences only.• Ensures student participation and involvement in the learning process by creating an interesting learning environment.• Encourages student use of the library and information resources.• Attends scheduled Faculty Meeting and any other scheduled meetings.• Sets, prepares, and marks assignments and tests and makes results available within a one-week time frame. Provides rubrics, detailed comments on papers or other feedback to document rationale for grades.• Provides proper academic assessment of each student upon completion of each course, finalizes grades only after all feedback is uploaded, and there are no missing grades for assignments (0’s must be added if students do not submit assigned work).• Prepares course syllabus and submits to the Dean for approval prior to new term.• Conducts exams in a professional manner and advises the Dean of any irregularities or acts of dishonesty which might occur during an exam or with any assignment. • Adheres to the highest standard of professionalism and personal integrity in and out of the classroom setting. • Assists and monitors the academic and intellectual development of each student taking a course and provides appropriate guidance and support to ensure the student’s success in the course. Contacts Student Affairs Officer (or other designated individual) if there are concerns about a student.• Maintains an understanding of the new APA 7th edition and requires students to submit work according to APA standards. Recommends the use of UNICHECK to assist students in writing with academic integrity
