I provide spatial and statistical analysis for contracted and research projects. I assess physical, biological and spatial data.I present research to various audiences. I supervise graduate students assisting with research projects and contracted analysis.I present and discuss methodology, spatial and quantitative approaches at regional meetings and invited talks on topics ranging from modeling physical and ecological phenomena to ecological, biological and habitat monitoring and assessment. I collaborate with researchers and Primary Investigators at other institutions and agencies. I develop manuscripts for publication.

My work in this lab incorporates the use of GIS and remote sensing technologies coupled with field studies to better understand how the physical landscape influences species distribution and ecological processes in rocky intertidal communities.

This work primarily focused on the study of rocky intertidal communities. A large portion of this was long term monitoring of rocky intertidal communities along the west coast of the United States including baseline surveys for California's network of Marine Protected Areas. Other studies included population and habitat assessments of the endangered species Haliotis cracherodii (Black Abalone), as well as environmental impact assessments.
