Aero Mentor (Front & Rear Wheel Turning Vanes Sub-team)

• Worked within an Aerodynamic Development team, responsible for generating and evaluating geometries focussed on improving rear brake duct and rear wing endplate performance for the RB15 and RB16 race cars..
• Computer-aided design of new geometries in Siemens NX.
• Analysis of CFD post-processing results by applying aerodynamic theory and principles to evaluate geometries and recommend further improvements. CFD mesh generation, case submission and fault fixing.
• Creation and management of wind tunnel development jobs. Liaising with other areas of the department such as Manufacturing and Mechanical Design to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Technical presentations to department management, both written and verbal, analysing CFD and wind tunnel data. Recommendation of further work with justified theoretical reasoning.
• Assisting the Race Strategy department on race weekends during Formula 1 sessions in the factory-based Operations Room. Filtering information to pass on crucial details urgently.Achievements:
