Director Of Supply
CurrentServes as Director of Supply with management responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing the work of logistics management specialists in the areas of transportation, supply management, distribution, deployment and reintegration of War Reserve Material to ensure optimum performance of all assigned organizational and logistical support functions. I advise the Dutch Ministry of Defense (DMOD) host nation partners in the areas of unit supply, Depot supply operations, storage of Army Propositioned Stock (APS), requesting and receiving supplies. I monitor the execution of assigned unit supply operations, and materiel maintenance programs for an APS consisting of nine separate units. I assign work to subordinates based on priority, difficulty, employee capability, and equitable distribution of work. I review GCSS-A transactions in supply and property management to ensure compliance with local and higher echelon policies and DA regulations. I ensure primary hand receipts are updated for APS property upon return. I meet with functional experts to discuss problem areas with the intent of developing solutions. I advise employees on both work and administrative matters to ensure successful accomplishment of assigned tasks. I am responsible for the full range of supervisory duties by overseeing work of subordinates, I counsel, mentor, write evaluations, and assist subordinates in completing assigned tasks. I assign assignments to employees by priority, difficulty of assignment, and capabilities of employees to ensure mission success. I ensure inventories of non-expendable property are done at initial receipt of equipment, or transfers between units. I constantly analyze supply programs policy to determine required changes in operations. I evaluate the effectiveness and try to anticipate impact of changes in the requirements from customer to allocated dedicated resources as necessary.
