Serves as Director of Supply with management responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing the work of logistics management specialists in the areas of transportation, supply management, distribution, deployment and reintegration of War Reserve Material to ensure optimum performance of all assigned organizational and logistical support functions. I advise the Dutch Ministry of Defense (DMOD) host nation partners in the areas of unit supply, Depot supply operations, storage of Army Propositioned Stock (APS), requesting and receiving supplies. I monitor the execution of assigned unit supply operations, and materiel maintenance programs for an APS consisting of nine separate units. I assign work to subordinates based on priority, difficulty, employee capability, and equitable distribution of work. I review GCSS-A transactions in supply and property management to ensure compliance with local and higher echelon policies and DA regulations. I ensure primary hand receipts are updated for APS property upon return. I meet with functional experts to discuss problem areas with the intent of developing solutions. I advise employees on both work and administrative matters to ensure successful accomplishment of assigned tasks. I am responsible for the full range of supervisory duties by overseeing work of subordinates, I counsel, mentor, write evaluations, and assist subordinates in completing assigned tasks. I assign assignments to employees by priority, difficulty of assignment, and capabilities of employees to ensure mission success. I ensure inventories of non-expendable property are done at initial receipt of equipment, or transfers between units. I constantly analyze supply programs policy to determine required changes in operations. I evaluate the effectiveness and try to anticipate impact of changes in the requirements from customer to allocated dedicated resources as necessary.

Serves as a logistics plans and operations specialist responsible for the management of the day-to-day operational issues/activities involved in the accomplishment of assigned logistical missions and functions to include logistical support planning, transportation, supply and service operations for the Army Pre-positioned Stock – 2 (APS-2). Incumbent makes decisions, issues guidance, assigns priorities, and authorizes additional/special logistical support to meet priority requirements. Participates in developing directives and long-range plans by making recommendations, providing advice, and guidance. Supports the planning for contingency operations, mass casualty, force protection, Soldier readiness program (SRP), emergency management, anti-terrorism, and ARFORGEN deployment/redeployment. As the S-3 has responsibilities for plans and operations. Prepares, coordinates, authenticates, reviews, publishes, and distributes written operation orders and plans. This includes the command SOP, plans, orders, exercises, terrain requirements, and products involving contributions from other staff sections. Provides coordination, integrates information collection, and allocates resources. Coordinates with other staff officers during plans and operations. As the Chief of Supply in the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), I planned workloads, set quality standards and suspense dates, provided supervision in the areas of unit supply (CLII, and IV) operations, the installation supply operations (receiving, warehousing, and shipping), bulk fuel operations, and the Installation Property Book Office (IPBO) managing property valued at over $33M dollars. I ensured adherence to agreements made between the Command and employees’ union. I provided advice to the Brigade Commander on implementation and execution of the installations supply mission, recommended improvements to the operations of the organization, wrote decision papers for higher authorities as required. I continuously evaluated data trends in all assigned supply functions and inventory processes to make informed decisions and recommendations on improvement of overall operations. I conducted studies, reviews or analyses of the organization logistics posture. I provided oversight of purchases in GCSS-A for class II, IV, VII including the receiving of commercial equipment, such as rail maintenance equipment, and engineer equipment. I attended LOGSA conferences to discuss logistical problems affecting the US Army. I led the TDA scrub for the organization deleting obsolete equipment and creating new authorizations based on requirements. I worked with installation and SDDC HQ staffs in developing methods and techniques to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of supported programs, striving to decrease total logistics costs while improving readiness, labor utilization and the organizational structure. I was the responsible officer/QAR over a capitalized DLA fuel program that provided bulk and retail fuel to the installation. I assessed, requested, and performed final inspections on all repairs to the fuel distribution system. I assembled, analyzed, and provided budgetary information for supplies to the Director, LRC and SDDC G8.

I supervised a diverse fourteen-person team consisting of local nationals, DA Civilians (GS-12, GS-11, GS-09), and military personnel that provided first class customer support to the USAREUR Theater in the areas of distribution, receipting, storing, and issuing of materiel. I managed all human resources requests for the team; submitted awards and requests for personnel actions (RPA) related to the hiring process to fill vacancies. I served on a hiring panel and conducted interviews to provide recommendations for appointment.Duties: I provided technical guidance and direction to the team in theater distribution, supply management, and transportation functions. I participated in organizational working groups, conferences, meetings, representing and advocating for the 21st TSC’s policies and interests. I participated in meetings with DLA to analyze distribution shortfalls and applied those findings to improve theater distribution by identifying areas in which greater economy and efficiency appeared possible.Coordinated with other organizations in planning for resolution of logistics management issues. I have in-depth working knowledge of USAREUR regulations, policies, procedures, and plans pertaining to supply management, maintenance, excess management, materiel distribution and logistics management systems. I analyzed statistical trends to determine the effectiveness of the supply distribution program based on the customer’s demand history.

Served as Team Lead in the Deployment Processing Center (DPC), supporting operational requirements for planning and coordinating movement of personnel and equipment through the DPC. Supervised a team of 16 local nationals providing transportation, housing, accommodations and administrative support to in-bound and out-bound Department of Defense personnel including Civilians and Allied Forces.
