*Position title formerly known as: Associate State Director - Advocacy & Outreach1. Serves as a member of the state team as a project lead and/or as a team contributor with responsibilities for leading volunteers, developing grassroots advocacy campaigns, executing community engagement strategies and tactics designed to advance AARP Kentucky’s priority issues within the state and/or within designated local communities. Helps to organize and maintain effective statewide or local, if applicable, coalitions and partnerships that address AARP’s strategic issues.2. In coordination with local AARP volunteers and the AARP Kentucky team, works to develop, expand and sustain AARP Kentucky’s Livable/Age Friendly Communities efforts within the state.3. Plans and executes integrated advocacy campaigns that include mobilization of grassroots activists, engaging key contacts, lobbying, community organizing, policy formulation and analysis, to support AARP Kentucky’s legislative goals at the state and national level.4. Provides leadership to volunteers in a shared effort to build an effective organization of self-directed and active volunteers to favorably impact AARP public policy at the state and national level.5. Builds and maintains strong, productive relationships with Members of Congress, MOC district staff, state and local elected officials and maintains a non-partisan stance with respect to candidates, incumbents, political parties and public events.6. Represents AARP before policy makers and those who promulgate rules and regulations in the state. Focuses on active engagement and involvement of volunteers and members who are impacted by the issue at hand. In consultation with Communications, informs members and the public on issues of concern to AARP, including voter education and advocacy on both state and federal issues.7. Works in collaboration with state and national office colleagues to position AARP Kentucky to contribute to AARP’s Enterprise Strategy.

Coordinating and serving 900+ volunteers through four local fundraising campaigns across the state. Staff leader to three special events through the leadership of local community chairs and committees. Focused on growing operating funds of the Lincoln Heritage Council, including Friends of Scouting (FOS) annual campaign ($1.6 million), special events ($476K), donor cultivation, United Ways, and grant writing.1. Identify and recruit top level community leaders for several community-based FOS campaigns. Most campaigns use a luncheon/dinner model with table captains and a keynote speaker.2. Lead a committee of top community leaders to raise funds through special events(patriot ride, honoree award dinner, golf tournament)3. Identify and cultivate relationships with current and new donors / volunteers.4. Assist in developing campaign media (i.e. brochures, video, program, script, etc.)5. Ensure timely and accurate communication to constituents and members.

-Work with a volunteer board of directors and other community and business leaders to identify, recruit, train, guide, and inspire them to become involved in youth programs.-Achieve progress towards specific goals and objectives which include: program development through collaborative relationships, volunteer recruitment and training, fundraising, membership recruitment and retention.-Responsible for extending programs to religious, civic, fraternal, educational, and other community-based organizations through volunteers.-Secure adequate financial support for programs in assigned area. Achieve net income and participation objectives for assigned camps and activities.-Recruit leadership for finance campaign efforts to meet the financial needs of the organization.-Ensure that all program sites are served through volunteers, regular leader meetings, training events and activities.-Collaborate with adult volunteers and oversee achievement of training for their respective role.-Provide quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, training events and activities.
