Northstar Aerospace ("Northstar") is a leading independent manufacturer of components and assemblies to the global aerospace industry.Managed the gear production line with 28 different product parts and between 25-65 union employees at any given time. Product line departments are as follows; turning, shape/hob, ID/OD grinding, gear grinding and inspection. In addition to managing the labor workforce I also organized and led a team that consists of engineering, Quality and manufacturing personal to assist in managing and eliminating product line defects as well as implementing new design. Accomplishments:Analyze the proficiency of workforce for product lines to increase the overall productivity of the unit by standardizing thru work instructions reducing setup times by 25% overall. Reducing scrap by an estimated 50%. Implement 5S and lean production practices by eliminating employee waste, (movement & waiting). Scheduling and moving product efficiently through the product line according to customer demand (Takt time). Implemented line proficiency using the one-piece flow methodology. Reduced product flow lead time by 50%.

Manage operations of 3 Mazak Mills & Lathes CNC machines consisting of a crew of 3 employees, using conversational programming (setup, programming, offsetting, and inspections).Using micrometers (ID & OD), calibers, boring gages, and height gauges while machining with all types of steel; stainless, aluminum, brass, D-2, and other misc metals while understanding and reading detailed prints. In charge of programming using Mazatrol & downloading Cam programs and overall production operations while producing precision parts for high profile companies utilizing tolerances as low as +/- .0001in. (10 thousands of an Inch).

Setup machines with indicators for NC programs for offset settings while setting up vices, and other varies types of fixtures. In charge of NC programming for Fadal VMC and overall production operations. Programming and operations for Nisshimbo turret punch press. Setup using computer control systems for a Mazak Laser using G & M codes for location coordinating and as well as alterations of NC programs written with a CAD/CAM system. Manage operations of a Hurco Lathe CNC machine (setup, programming, offsetting, and quality control).
