Clayton Brown was a boutique investment banking firm that provided public finance, tax-exempt and taxable securites sales and trading, and packaged products sold under the "First Trust" name. The firm was acquired by Dain Bosworth (now RBC Dain Rauscher) in 1994.

Previously known as Van Kampen Merritt, Dan began as an associate in public finance and became a Vice President in 1985 focusing on public and structured finance.
