In my current role as BIM Manager for Fast-Track Housing (a disruptive start-up bringing to market an innovative and patented DfMA superstructure system to the low-to-mid-rise UK residential construction sector) I am responsible for the development and implementation of design, information management, and firmwide 19650 accreditation.The unique building system combines LGS structural frame with GRC decorative permanent formwork and ultra-lightweight MPC to deliver thermally efficient and thermally heavy, acoustically insulated and water impermeable superstructures up to 6-storeys that are 100% non-combustible and A1 rated.I have researched and implemented the tech stack for design, manufacture and construction of the productised system. The system and the design process are unique in that any building design can be converted, requiring only minor alterations to be compatible with the system. The panelised system does not suffer the same design limitations imposed by the inherent constraints of volumetric modular approaches.I lead the development and implementation of ISO 19650 compliant processes across all departments designing, manufacturing and constructing the DfMA construction system. I have coached and trained a small team to exploit numerous software packages including Revit and StrucSoft MWF, Navisworks, Dalux, and 3D visualization packages including TwinMotion and Blender to undertake the conversion and technical design of any low-to-mid-rise building type.The outputs of the BIM for DfMA process control production lines and site activities, as well as additional uses including computational / generative design, quantification, visualization, construction sequencing and facilities management deliverables. I have developed dynamo graphs to streamline predictable and repeatable tasks undertaken by the LGS detailers, and I am developing generative techniques to automate the design of all aspects of the Fast-Track building system.

In my roles as Digital Engineer and BIM Information Manager at Willmott Dixon I delivered full BIM management and BIM coordination services for multiple complex construction projects in the education, leisure, transport, commercial and healthcare sectors for local authority, university, and private clients on projects valued between £5m and £50m.I communicated with internal and external stakeholders at all levels throughout work winning, design, construction, handover and aftercare. I developed processes that have driven the efficiency and effectiveness of the regional BIM team, and I’ve contributed to the continuous improvement of group BIM standards.I’ve developed and implemented robust Navisworks clash routines and Solibri assurance processes, and I’ve supported the roll-out of these across the group’s regional BIM teams.

As Senior BIM Author for the NBS National BIM Library I was a senior member of a team authoring original parametric BIM content and certifying third-party content. I developed and delivered NBS’s generic MEP content. I also improved internal project management processes, successfully developing, implementing and maintaining resource management and demand forecasting tools to facilitate the management of in excess of 50 concurrent projects, a team of 7, as well as outsourcing activities.

I have also been instrumental to BIM Academy’s success at Build Sydney Live, coordinating the use of the CDE, federating native and IFC models, producing COBie deliverables, overseeing construction simulation, and managing the successful first use of dRofus.
