My work is primarily in the field of cryobiology, where I focus on improving storage conditions for biological structures like red cell concentrates (RCC's) and organs. I conduct various assays to understand cellular damage, such as hemolysis and oxidative hemoglobin, which are key to understanding the effects of storage on these structures.In addition to this, I'm exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) software for data analysis, specifically for evaluating ice recrystallization patterns in cells. This approach could provide us with more detailed information about the impact of freezing on cells.I'm also working with a graduate student on a project aimed at extending the storage time of RCC's. We're using a new supercooling technique with the goal of increasing the storage limit from 42 days to 150 days. This research could have significant implications for the field of transfusion medicine, potentially changing the way we store and use blood products.

My research primarily focuses on understanding the effects and implications of stroke, particularly intracerebral hemorrhage. I am interested in exploring the mechanisms of neuroprotection and the role of targeted temperature management, commonly known as hypothermia, in mitigating the damage caused by stroke.In addition to this, I also assess the quality of research papers within the stroke and neuroprotection domain, aiming to ensure the reliability and validity of the findings in this field.My research involves the use of animal models, specifically rats, as they provide valuable insights that can potentially be translated into clinical outcomes. The ultimate goal of my work is to contribute to the development of effective treatments and interventions for stroke.
