A recognized educator with more than a decade of classroom, district, and state-level experience in traditional public, magnet, and independent contexts, I help schools improve student outcomes through targeted professional learning and evaluation that aligns institutional resources and builds teacher capacity.As a former Teacher of the Year, I've consistently demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching in varied settings, with particular attention to student self-efficacy and community engagement. I’ve served as an Adjunct Professor, Mentor Teacher, Curriculum Fellow, and member of the state education commissioner's Teacher Advisory Council, offering input on statewide education policy. In my current role, I shape academic vision and implementation, fostering a learning culture for faculty and students as the Director of Teaching and Learning at Evangelical Christian School.Outside of schools, I speak to groups of students and professionals to provide historical context for their experiences working in Memphis neighborhoods in order to build empathy and cultivate critical and reflective practice.
