These responsibilities required preparation beforehand in order to effectively communicate the information to the students.Subjects taught in physical geography included map reading, climatology, plate tectonics, and basic geology. Subjects taught in GIS courses included proper map elements, principles of projections, data manipulation, and aesthetics of map element layout.The position also required knowledge of various office equipment such as copiers, printers, and MS Office including Word and Excel. Position required good communication skills so the students knew what was expected of them.Physical Geography lab coordinator in Spring 2010—This position required general assignments given by the instructor with explicit instructions which were then conveyed to other co-workers in order to perform day-to-day work. Also required a variety of office and work-related meetings to exchange information with the head instructor to select alternative techniques and methods for the laboratories which included editing labs, editing quizzes, etc. These coordinated activities required good time management in order to be prepared each week, finding a time for all TA’s to grade the exams for the class, and ensuring all TA’s knew what was expected of them. I ensured that proper materials were available to the other TA's such as quizzes with answer keys, maps, stereoscopes, rulers, etc.

This position required working the front desk where I greeted visitors and replied to inquiries requesting general information about organizational activities, programs and policies of the library. We assisted callers, relayed messages to other employees, and provided patrons with basic information about the library and its policies. We often assisted visitors with the completion of forms online, such as FAFSA. The library had TV's set up for students to watch movies required for classes and I would often help them with the video cassette player and DVD player.Other duties were checking out books, setting up audio/visual media equipment for classes and conferences about 15 minutes beforehand, and maintaining audio/visual equipment to ensure proper working order. Such equipment included video projectors and laptops.I would often open the library at the beginning of the day and close and lock up the library in the evening.
