Develop GIS web applications in JavaScript/HTML/CSS for computer desktops and mobile devices.Assist with developing scripts to automate data editing, updating, and backups. This position is as an online geography instructor teaching World Regional Geography. The course is an overview of the physical geography, natural resources, cultural landscapes, and current problems of the world’s major regions. Students also examine current events at a variety of geographic scales.

Assisted resident scholar in mapping her research.National Geographic Education Foundation grants funds to state alliances to expand geographic education. Taught introductory physical geography laboratories and GIS laboratories. Assisted students in the creation of desktop based maps utilizing ESRI ArcMap, manipulate spatial data, perform geoprocessing tasks on spatial data, create geodatabases, load and reformat spatial data into geodatabases, create feature classes and shapefiles, georeferencing, digitizing, and other forms of spatial analysis and extraction of spatial data. Position required good communication skills so the students knew what was expected of them.Physical Geography lab coordinator in Spring 2010—This position required general assignments given by the instructor with explicit instructions which were then conveyed to other co-workers in order to perform day-to-day work. Also required a variety of office and work-related meetings to exchange information with the head instructor to select alternative techniques and methods for the laboratories which included editing labs, editing quizzes, etc. These coordinated activities required good time management in order to be prepared each week, finding a time for all TA’s to grade the exams for the class, and ensuring all TA’s knew what was expected of them. I ensured that proper materials were available to the other TA's such as quizzes with answer keys, maps, stereoscopes, rulers, etc.

Teach Overseas’ Total Immersion Program (TIP) provided English-speaking Chinese teachers and students a place to immerse themselves in an English environment in order to improve their conversational and communication English language skills. The program took place on the Yuan Ming Yuan satellite campus of the University of Beijing.My role was as a classroom co-facilitator to help plan the daily class, ensure proper materials were available and ready for the class, facilitate student-learning activities, and grade homework and various assignments.

This position required working the front desk where I greeted visitors and replied to inquiries requesting general information about organizational activities, programs and policies of the library. We assisted callers, relayed messages to other employees, and provided patrons with basic information about the library and its policies. We often assisted visitors with the completion of forms online, such as FAFSA. The library had TV's set up for students to watch movies required for classes and I would often help them with the video cassette player and DVD player.Other duties were checking out books, setting up audio/visual media equipment for classes and conferences about 15 minutes beforehand, and maintaining audio/visual equipment to ensure proper working order. Such equipment included video projectors and laptops.I would often open the library at the beginning of the day and close and lock up the library in the evening.
