I assess proposed deployments/changes to identify whether Telstra need to notify the Government of the change under Telecommunications Sector Security Reforms (TSSR) legislation. Where notification is required, I am responsible for preparing documentation for submission to Government by partnering with subject matter experts from across the business to collate necessary inputs.

As an Operational Readiness Lead I was responsible for the transition of new IT applications and infrastructure from build to operations. To ensure there were no issues on deployment I would gather requirements from all impacted stakeholders and provide projects a tailored list of deliverables based on the application or technology being deployed. Throughout the Operational Readiness process I would manage a virtual team of stakeholders from project delivery, operations and vendor partners to ensure requirements are delivered on time and to a high standard and that there are no delays to project schedule or issues after deployment.

During my time as a Tech Graduate I spent 3 rotations of 6 months each in IT Configuration Management, IT Decommissioning and Lifecycle Management and Enterprise Data Network Operations. In this time I was responsible for; • Maintenance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) including creation, updating and deletion of records• Assist with the rollout of BMC Discovery to the fleet of servers including coordinating resources from Automation and troubleshooting issues with Operating System support teams • Manage the decommissioning of servers through coordinating of internal and external resources• Design and testing of a new browser based tool created to streamline the Decommissioning process• Assisting the Telstra Graduate program by being a mentor for two graduates and helping them transition into the company and also coordinating showcase days where groups of University students would visit Telstra• Maintenance of team’s knowledge database• Ad hoc reporting as required (e.g. CMDB compliance, project status, etc.)
