Profile bio

About Daniel Whitaker

Initially trained as a Radioman in the U.S. Coast Guard, I have accumulated field experience with software development, debugging, and customer support. An experienced Senior Escalation Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry. Languages used depend on the project but include C, C++, C#, Java, Pascal, VB. Currently specialize in Driver Development, debugging, IoT, Raspberry Pi, MXChip, Microsoft Cognitive and Azure technologies. Ever since I was a child, I was amazed at how things worked. I was always taking things apart trying to understand their inner workings. Watches, clocks, TV's, toys, tools. It didn't matter. They all fascinated me to no end. I was blessed to have parents that allowed me to be curious. My first program ever, was in high school, where I snuck into computer lab after school. Within a few days, I had this huge machine (circa 1980) taking my name as an input, and printing it out backwards. Woo hoo! The days of paper tape and punch cards! This mindset carried on into the military as well. When they finally brought computers into the everyday mix, I cracked the books and took those machines apart (off the clock of course!). So while others were afraid that these computers would take away from their jobs, I became the de-facto expert. I love technology and always endeavor to be the expert. I'm currently progressing through the Cornell Python Programming course with a goal of certification in Python. Awesome course by the way

Listed skills include Debugging, Device Drivers, Microsoft Technologies, Software Development, and 22 others.
