An annoyingly enthusiastic UX/UI Designer with a background producing video, digital content, and campaigns for live broadcast TV, social media and advertising.I’m very fortunate, my career has been wide-ranging and lots of fun. I started in London coming up with new TV show ideas for MTV, I've produced a live morning show in New Zealand, and worked in agencies helping create ad campaigns for the likes of Vodafone, Nando’s and Holiday Inn. I’ve even written tweets for the official Great Britain Twitter account, based out of Downing St.The common thread to these jobs is an overlap with UX design. There are things that I’m well-placed to help you with as a result. For example, I have years of experience pulling together targeted research plans designed to answer specific questions, quickly. I bloody love interviews, I’m nosy and learned to actively listen and to ask questions as a TV researcher. Developing TV concepts for specific audiences/timeslots, and answering client briefs in advertising has made me really good at questioning the ‘business problem’ upfront and finding the angle which will allow exploration of solving the users’ problems through the design process in a way that will also benefit the business. I can facilitate a great brainstorm too. Not all my jobs have been glamorous. I’ve also worked in a refrigerated salad factory, as a luggage-boy for cruise passengers, in the stock rooms of Liberty London, and peddling a sandwich-board-on-wheels around Oxford promoting something I honestly can’t remember. These jobs have given me great memories and pub stories, they’ve also taught me empathy. I worked with all sorts of people in all sorts of situations, I learned you can get on with almost anyone if you’re prepared to listen and let them express opinions. I have a reason for gravitating towards human-centred design. The reason makes me sound like the worst kind of amateur philosopher. Hey ho, here it is: Most of the world we inhabit and all cultures, institutions and laws have been made by humans. Yet, the world is so unpleasant for the vast majority of humans. No third party is forcing this reality on us. We’re doing it to ourselves. This is definitely strange. UX Design is a discipline that combats this issue, and sometimes in really big ambitious ways. UX Design and the efforts being made to evolve it are fascinating and engaging. A career spent figuring out how to make the world function better for humans to live in sounds worthwhile and fulfilling to me!☎️ +61 409 397800📧 danielaylwinwilde@gmail.com

ResearcherTalkback Thames Feb 2005 - May 2006I spent a year within Talkback working on a music panel show called Never Mind theBuzzcocks. One of the BBC's most iconic entertainment shows. My role in the team was split across two main responsibilities: To research and compile concise, detailed written biographies of the show's celebrity guests for use by the scriptwriters. This was achieved by locating, reading through and summarising scores of news articles, interviews and editorials from the BBC's historical archives. I was also given sole responsibility for seeking and securing celebrity bookings for one of the show's most iconic segments 'The ID Round'. In this round we would drag an aging pop star from the annuls of time onto the stage to see if our panel could still recognize them 20 years after their last hit. The round could be fairly humiliating on the ex-star, especially if they were asked to don their original stage costume (think tight leather trousers and, spandex cat suits). I was given a limited budget, a very short time frame and a book listing every British 'Top Ten' pop song going back 50 years. The job involved a great deal of detective work, a lot more over-the-phone persuasion and some bruised egos. It was genuinely the most fun jobs I have ever had.
